Launched a secure e-signature platform that allows users to upload, sign, and manage PDF documents online
with full legal compliance and cryptographic security.
Project Details
MicroSign is a web-based digital signature platform built to facilitate secure document execution without the need for physical paperwork. It allows businesses and individuals to upload documents, place signature tags, and send them to multiple signers in a defined order. The system tracks the signing status in real-time and automatically notifies signers about pending actions. Built with strict security standards, MicroSign ensures document integrity by calculating cryptographic hashes and generating complete audit trails of user activities. It also provides reusable document templates, helping companies automate high-volume contract workflows such as onboarding and service agreements.
The platform integrates smoothly with storage providers and third-party systems using RESTful webhooks. A clean, responsive dashboard gives managers full visibility into active, completed, and expired contracts. MicroSign enables organizations to transition to paperless workflows, reducing agreement turnaround times from days to minutes while keeping all confidential documents encrypted and secure.
The Business Challenge
Our client needed to automate their business agreement signing flow to replace slow, manual paper signing and legacy tools that were costly and difficult to configure. They required a platform that met strict security criteria, offered detailed audit logging, and was easy enough for non-technical clients to use. Key challenges included implementing a reliable PDF annotation engine, ensuring document hashes were cryptographically verified on completion, and building a multi-party workflow that worked seamlessly across desktop and mobile browsers. Scalability was also a concern, as they anticipated handling thousands of sign requests daily.
The Solution Delivered
Harvions Tech engineered and deployed MicroSign, a custom e-signature platform utilizing a React.js frontend, a Node.js API backend, and a PostgreSQL database. We integrated PDF.js for rendering and annotation placement, and designed a robust multi-signer workflow system. Each signed document is sealed with a cryptographic SHA-256 signature and stored on AWS S3 with encryption. The platform achieved an average document turnaround time reduction of 85%, cut administrative document handling costs by 60%, and successfully passed an independent security audit. The client is now handling thousands of secure signing sessions daily with zero downtime.
